Meteora: Full-Day Tour from Athens with Lunch + Audio Guide

Trip was excellent

The trip to Meteora is my highlight for the Athens trip. This place is superb and should not be missed. I was expecting a minivan but indeed it come with a 50 person tour bus. The return trip last for 8 hours in total but the sightseeing point is great! Eva is our tour guide and provides a lot of information about two monasteries which we visited. We also have an audio guide for some basic information. The lunch is included but don’t expect too much. In general I love the place and the monasteries experience.

It was a unique experience. From the bus driver to the tour guide, everyone was friendly and eager to help. The bus was able to carry all of our baggages. The lunch was very good and efficient. Visitors to the monasteries should check on the dress requirements. Highly recommended the day trip.

Wonderful Day Trip to Meteora! Everything was perfectly organized. Our tour guide and drivers were fantastic – friendly, cheerful, and very professional. The scenery was breathtaking, the monasteries were impressive, and the overall experience felt truly special. Plus, the price was very reasonable for what we got. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide is nice

Very good from start to end. We were picked up on time. The journey of around 4 hours was very smooth. They stop at a rest area/cafe which is a very nice and clean cafe with clean toilets. Food is a bit expensive but had good choices if someone needed. The guide Eva joined us in Meteora and she was super nice and very knowledgeable. We visited 2 monasteries, both of them absolutely lovely even at around 100 degree heat wave. Then we stopped at multiple photo breaks with spectacular views. Eva described the other monasteries as we drove by. It ends with a short restroom:coffee break at Kalampaka before we head back. On the way( around 3 hour mark) we stopped at the same rest stop as we did while coming. All in all very comfortable and good trip.

Great trip, a very long day but well worth it. Our guide Eva was fantastic! We couldn’t taste the honey due to the recent flooding but did an on the bus Tsipouro tasting instead! (one of traditional Greek alcoholic drinks) The monasteries are incredible and definitely worth a visit and the region itself is so unique and absolutely incredible. There were 9 of us on the tour, everyone was wonderful and great company. We also got free water and snacks.
