Very high quality. Good organization of displays. Easy to complete in a couple of hours, but more time can be devoted if you really read all of the supporting info. Don’t forget the gift shop!
Spectacular museum. We spent hours in there. So much to see and everything impressive and beautiful. Never thought I would get interested in vases. But even the vases department was amazing. Couldn’t get enough.

Well laid out world class museum, with very informative good didactic panels in both Greek and English. Superb pieces in its collection: allow extra time to not rush so you can absorb it all.
We had only a few hours to see a part of the museum’s collections. On arrival, the line extended almost to the street. Jumped on line, got tickets, walked past the line. Easy! Try it, you’ll like it.
This museum is an absolute must when visiting Athens! It has such a range of artifacts from so many different periods, displayed beautifully and well explained.
Well worth a visit. Rooms are beautifully laid out with some amazing and exquisite artefacts. The Cafe is in a lovely courtyard and has good coffee and delicious cakes.
It’s the gem. So many artifacts are in tact. Their written explanations are clear. They have world class and amazing arts.
Well worth the cost to visit. Don't rush just take time to see all the amazing exhibits. If you want a nice coffee and bite to eat go over the street opposite the museum to Cafe lab .Great prices and lovely staff.
First of all, the acquiring of the tickets through Tiqets was amazingly efficient and easy. I printed out a hard copy of all tickets and this was no problem getting into the museum. There is a bit of leeway around the timing, especially afterwards (you can spend as long as you want in the museum - mind you, it was not full season) but it is still good to get there at the right time anyway.
As for the museum itself, this is an wonderful look at all sorts of artefects, from the Mycenaean period through to different stages of statuary. The pottery section upstairs is well presented and there are substantial finds, all put in chronological order. For anyone into Ancient Greek art, this museum is a must-see. I have been several times in the past and never tire of it. Be aware that there is a lot of good stuff to see, so you might need to pace yourself or have a break midway.
Fascinating - a brilliant collection of archeological items along with historical details of Ancient Greece. But, be prepared for a long tiring few hours - BUT really worthwhile and highly recommended.

I loved the statues. But too many vases. Some areas were closed off for no apparent reason, like the gold area.
