Acropolis and museum combo ticket
The Acropolis and museum combo ticket pairs Athens' hilltop citadel with the collection that explains it, matching skip-the-line entry to the Acropolis with admission to the Acropolis Museum around 300 meters away. Booked online as a single reservation, it covers the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Propylaea on the hill, together with the Parthenon Gallery inside the museum.

What can visitors see with the combined ticket

The Parthenon
The Parthenon crowns the Acropolis, a Doric temple to Athena raised between 447 and 438 BCE that has stood for nearly 2,500 years. Visitors walk its perimeter to take in the sculptural detail and the optical refinements built into its design. Parthenon >

The Erechtheion
The Erechtheion is the most complex temple on the hill, best known for the Porch of the Caryatids, where six sculpted maidens stand in place of columns. Built on the Acropolis' most sacred ground, it once housed several cults. Erechtheion >

The Propylaea
The Propylaea is the main gateway to the Acropolis, built between 437 and 432 BCE with Doric and Ionic columns. Every visitor passes through it on the western approach, the same threshold Athenians crossed during religious festivals. Propylaea >

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus
On the southern slope, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a Roman theater built in 161 CE that once seated around 5,000 spectators. Its restored stone tiers still host performances today, and the combined ticket covers the slope where it stands. Odeon of Herodes Atticus >

The Parthenon Gallery
Inside the Acropolis Museum, the top-floor Parthenon Gallery aligns with the temple on the hill and shows the surviving Parthenon Frieze in its original sequence. Glass walls keep the marbles within sight of the monument they once decorated.

The original Caryatids
The museum displays the original Caryatids from the Erechtheion among more than 4,000 artifacts recovered from the Acropolis and its slopes. The galleries trace Athenian art and worship across the Archaic and Classical periods, with glass floors revealing the excavation beneath the building.

Opening hours
The two sites keep separate schedules, so the combined ticket works best with both in mind. The Acropolis opens daily at 08:00 and closes at 20:00 from April through August, with last entry 30 minutes before closing, and the timetable shortens through autumn into a winter schedule. The Acropolis Museum opens at 09:00 and stays open later, until 20:00 on most summer days and as late as 22:00 on Fridays, with reduced winter hours. Exact seasonal times sit on the Acropolis opening hours page.
General information for visitors
- Both entries use a timed-slot system, so visitors should arrive within the reserved slot, and the Acropolis requires advance online booking.
- The Acropolis Museum is fully accessible, with ramps and elevators throughout, while the Acropolis site has uneven terrain and steep paths and is only partially accessible. A panoramic elevator serves the hill, and visitors should reserve it ahead.
- The combined ticket includes the Acropolis Audio Guide and Acropolis Museum Audio Guide apps, so visitors bring their own smartphone and headphones, as a device is not provided.
- Inside the museum, large bags and backpacks go to the cloakroom, food and drink are not allowed in the galleries, and photography is permitted everywhere except the Archaic Gallery.
- Early morning from opening or the last hours before closing are the calmest times, and the shoulder months of April to May and September to October are the most comfortable for the open-air site.
- Comfortable shoes, water and sun protection help on the exposed hilltop, where shade is scarce.
